Hey, moms! Today, let’s talk about something really important: teaching our kids about forgiveness. Teaching our children about forgiveness is an important aspect of their spiritual and emotional growth.  We’ll explore three Bible verses that can help us guide our little ones in understanding forgiveness better.

1. Colossians 3:13 (NIV) – “Forgive Others Like God Forgives You” This verse from Colossians talks about forgiving others, just like God forgives us. It’s like being kind and understanding when someone makes a mistake. Teaching our kids to forgive this way helps them see how powerful God’s forgiveness is.

Reflection: Ask your kids about a time when someone forgave them. Talk about how good it felt and why it’s essential to forgive others too.

2. Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV) – “Forgiveness is a Two-Way Street” In these verses from Matthew, Jesus tells us that if we forgive others, God will forgive us. But if we don’t forgive others, God won’t forgive us either. It’s like saying, “Let’s all be kind and forgive each other.” Understanding this helps our kids be compassionate and nice to others.

Reflection: Have a chat with your kids about how forgiveness works both ways. Talk about why it’s important to say sorry and forgive each other.

3. Ephesians 4:32 (NIV) – “Be Kind, Compassionate, and Forgive” Ephesians 4:32 is like a guide to being a good friend. It tells us to be kind, compassionate, and forgive, just like God forgave us through Jesus. When our kids forgive others, they’re showing love and understanding, just like God shows us.

Reflection: Explore with your kids how being kind, compassionate, and forgiving all go hand in hand. Help them understand how these qualities create a happy and loving community.

Being a parent is a big responsibility, and teaching our kids about forgiveness is part of it. These Bible verses can help shape their hearts to be kind, understanding, and forgiving. Let’s empower our kids to navigate friendships and relationships with love, showing the world the incredible power of forgiveness. Together, we’re building a world filled with love, understanding, and God’s endless kindness.
