Hey there, fellow moms! Can we chat about something that’s been on my heart lately? It’s about screen time and how it’s affecting our precious little ones. As Christian moms, we all want what’s best for our children, right? We want them to grow up strong in their faith, with minds and hearts tuned in to God’s word. Well, let me tell you, sister, screen time can throw a real curveball into that plan!

Now, I’m not here to shame anyone. We all know how tempting it can be to hand over the iPad or turn on the TV when we need a few minutes of peace and quiet. Trust me, I’ve been there too! But lately, I’ve been feeling convicted about the amount of screen time my kiddos are getting and how it might be impacting their brain development.

Did you know that the Bible has some pretty wise words to say about how we should use our time? Take Ephesians 5:15-16, for example: “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” Wow, talk about hitting the nail on the head! We need to be intentional about how we use our time, especially when it comes to our kids.

Now, I’m not saying we need to ban screens altogether. After all, technology can be a wonderful tool when used in moderation. But it’s all about balance, sisters! We need to make sure our children are spending plenty of time engaging in activities that stimulate their brains and nourish their souls. And let me tell you, there’s no better way to do that than by turning to the Good Book itself!

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” That means it’s our job as Christian moms to instill God’s word in our children from a young age. And let me tell you, there’s no app or TV show that can compare to the wisdom found in the Bible!

So, let’s make a commitment together, shall we? Let’s strive to limit our children’s screen time and instead fill their minds and hearts with the timeless truths found in God’s word. Let’s be intentional about the way we use our time, making sure to prioritize activities that will help our children grow into strong, faithful followers of Christ. And hey, if you ever need some extra support or encouragement along the way, just know that I’m here for you, sister! We’re all in this together, and together, we can raise our children to be shining lights in this world.

Love,

Antonette (Christian Moms Team Member)
