Simple Hacks to Fit in Bible Time

As busy moms, finding time to read the Bible can feel like a challenge. Between taking care of the kids, managing the household, and everything else on our plates, it’s easy for our time with God to get pushed aside. But staying connected with His Word is so important for our spiritual growth and for guiding our families in faith. Here are some simple hacks to help you fit in Bible time, even on the busiest days.

1. Start Your Day with Scripture

One of the best ways to ensure you get Bible time is to start your day with it. Keep your Bible or a devotional on your nightstand, so it’s the first thing you reach for in the morning. Even just reading a few verses can set a positive tone for the day ahead. Psalm 5:3 says, “In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Making this a habit helps you start your day focused on God.

2. Use Bible Apps on the Go

We all spend time waiting—whether it’s in the carpool line, at the doctor’s office, or during kids’ activities. Instead of scrolling through social media, use that time to read a verse or two on a Bible app. Many apps offer daily verses, reading plans, and even audio Bibles, so you can listen while you’re on the go. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 encourages us to keep God’s Word in our hearts and teach them to our children, talking about them “when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” With these apps, you can keep God’s Word close no matter where you are.

3. Involve the Kids

Why not make Bible time a family affair? Involve your kids in reading a Bible story together before bed or during a meal. This not only helps you get in some Bible reading but also teaches your children the importance of God’s Word. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” By making Bible reading a family routine, you’re setting a foundation of faith for your children.

4. Break It Up Throughout the Day

If sitting down for a long reading session isn’t practical, try breaking up your Bible time throughout the day. Read a verse in the morning, meditate on it at lunch, and reflect on it before bed. This approach makes it easier to fit in Bible reading without feeling overwhelmed. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Little doses of Scripture throughout the day can keep you grounded and focused on God.

5. Keep Verses Where You Can See Them

Write down your favorite Bible verses and place them where you’ll see them often—on the bathroom mirror, the fridge, or in your car. These visual reminders will encourage you to take a moment to meditate on God’s Word during your daily routines. Colossians 3:16 urges us to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” Surrounding yourself with Scripture can help keep your mind on God’s promises, even during the busiest days.

Remember, fitting in Bible time doesn’t have to be complicated or take hours. These simple hacks can help you stay connected with God’s Word, no matter how busy your life gets. After all, the time we spend with God is never wasted—it’s what fuels us to be the moms He’s called us to be.
